School for Migrant Children

This project was founded on the belief that education is both a beacon, lighting the journey of life, and also the foundation on which secure, cooperative communities are built. In 2005 the school opened its doors in Beijing as the first private, non-profit vocational school in China to provide a completely free two year education to underprivileged youth who have migrated from the countryside to metropolitan areas. The purpose ofthe school is to help these young people become highly skilled workers and improve their lives, and secondly, to meet the current and future needs of cities for a skilled workforce.
